Barristers Clerk
Elaine joined us in February 2016 as a fees clerk to assist in dealing with the ever expanding workload at Senate House Chambers.
Elaine assists in all areas of billing for chambers, including Family matters both public and private law matters, whether funded through Legal Aid billing and CCMS or on a privately paid basis.
Elaine uses both the Meridian and CCMS systems to assist in the processing of tenants billing as well as for the purpose of resolving solicitors’ enquiries and bookings.
Elaine has a delightful and friendly approach which make her an excellent point of contact and very successful in resolving any billing issues.
In her previous employment history, Elaine worked for Barclays Bank for in excess of 20 years as a Security print buyer. In that role she was responsible for negotiating large contracts with suppliers. Elaine also enjoyed a long period of employment at Milton Keynes Hospital immediately prior to joining us at Senate House Chambers.
Barristers Clerk
Before joining Senate House Chambers, Bethany previously worked as an operations agent. Therefore has had a complete change of career coming to work in the legal profession. Having a blank canvas so to speak she has gradually built up her knowledge within this area and is now confident in all aspects of the role.
Bethany has an exceptionally cheerful manner and is always happy to help. She is a real team player.
When Bethany is away from work, she enjoys spending time with her two children.
Barristers Clerk
Amanda is a Clerk and assists Chambers in many areas.
Prior to joining Senate House Chambers Amanda worked as a Paralegal and has a CILEX Paralegal qualification in Family Law. Amanda has experience working in a variety of Family Law matters including Public Law and Care Proceedings, Child Arrangement Orders, Special Guardianship Orders, Adoption and complex cases whereby Human Rights Act claims have been made.
Amanda also has experience with the Legal Aid Agency, using the CCMS system and resolving billing queries.
Amanda has an approachable manner and is keen to assist and resolve queries.
When she is away from work Amanda enjoys running and spending time with her family.
Isabelle Don
Isabelle has been with Senate House Chambers since March 2021, originally working as the primary administration clerk. During her time at chambers she has since progressed to diary clerk.
Isabelle manages diary bookings and enquiries both over the phone and via email for all counsel in chambers. She is solely responsible for 14 counsel’s diary requests. Alongside the diary she also manages the court listings each day to confirm with each barrister their hearing venue, time and judge for the following day
Prior to joining Senate House Chambers Isabelle has worked in both hospitality and as a receptionist, she has an extremely pleasant, welcoming manner and demonstrates an unerring willingness to assist in any way that she can.
Lauren Coupar-Evans
Lauren joined Senate House Chamber in 2022 from a background in sales, business development and operations and brings with her a breadth of experience in HR, finance, marketing and all aspects of running a business.
Lauren has owned two businesses of her own and has been in management roles since the age of 21.
At Senate House Chambers, she is responsible for the clerking team and growing the already excellent reputation of this quality practice, helping its barristers achieve their own individual practice goals and overseeing all of the individual committees that help to make this chambers the huge success that it is.
Outside of work she spends most of her time next to a football pitch with her two boys or walking her hyperactive Dalmatian.
